I am a Modern Languages graduate from the University of Birmingham currently living in France where I teach English to undergraduate students at university. In my free time I love going climbing, both inside and outdoors, attending concerts, and travelling!
My main job at the moment is teaching conversation and language lab classes to undergraduate students in France. This involves preparing materials and delivering classes on a wide range of topical issues to suit an advanced conversational/ discussion style class. I also have extensive experience as a volunteer in the UK teaching English to adults who have little or no prior knowledge of the language. In the past I have also worked as a cover teacher for French in a secondary school, and tutored individual students in GCSE and A-level French.
I really enjoy getting to know my students and then tailoring classes not only to the areas they wish to work on, but also their passions and interests. Therefore I am always keen to take suggestions from my students (and their parents/ teachers if relevant) and working to include this in my lesson plans. I also strive to make lessons fun and exciting and so if working on a comic book, song lyrics, or an article about a football team helps to make the learning objective more engaging, I am always keen to do that!
