Jessica

I am a seasoned mathematics & science tutor with over six years of teaching experience. My passion for tutoring was ignited when I successfully guided a family friend through their GCSE examination. Since then, I have expanded my tutoring services to include students at the KS3, 11+, A-Level and degree.
By day, I am a full-time data engineer at a management consultancy. This role allows me to demonstrate the practical applications of mathematics in the real world, further enriching my tutoring sessions with real-life examples.

Tutoring Approach

I recognise that many students perceive mathematics & science as daunting and challenging, which often leads to a lack of confidence. My approach begins with understanding the students' self-identified weaknesses, followed by identifying their strengths and areas of difficulty. This allows me to create a tailored plan for their tutoring sessions. To build their confidence, I focus on explaining core concepts with clarity, using detailed explanations often grounded in real-life examples. I then reinforce their understanding by guiding them through exam-style questions, helping them to excel.
