Jewel

I am a research scientist working in the pharmaceutical industry, exploring drug development. I have a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Nottingham, with a very strong scientific background. During my time at Nottingham Trent University, I received an award for academic excellence two years running and an award for achieving the highest overall grades in my cluster.

I am incredibly passionate about science and find it extremely rewarding to pass on my knowledge to others.

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored students in maths and science at secondary and GCSE level, both on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. The students I have tutored cover a range of academic abilities and learning styles. Nonetheless, all students have shown sustained improvement in results!

Tutoring Approach

I am very flexible in my approach, and tailor all lessons towards the specific needs of each individual student.

I aim to support students in assignments, revision and intense exam preparation. Initially, we will discuss what we hope to achieve, and plan a course of action. The student is then tracked throughout the year to ensure they are meeting their targets and to highlight any potential areas of improvement.

My passion for science and thirst for knowledge are what underpin my success so far. I hope to instil this into all my students and inspire them to achieve great results.
