I am a part-time tutor while teaching full time GCSE and A level Biology. I am married with two teenage daughters doing GCSE and A level currently, so I understand the challenges. I tutor all GCSE/IGCSE, but specialise only in AQA A level Biology.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified and experienced teacher of Biology currently teaching full time at an independent school in Surrey. I have taught Biology for various exam boards at GCSE and 6th Form level for 20 years and have been Head of Biology at two previous schools. I am an examiner so I understand the rigours of the exam and what techniques are necessary to improve results.

Tutoring Approach

My experience has shown me that to be successful in exams students must not only thoroughly understand the content they are being examined on, but also understand the exam structure itself and the exam techniques required to apply that knowledge to meet the examiners requirements. My teaching approach is focused on developing all of these skills along with revision techniques.
I require students to do some work in preparation for each tutor session and will provide weekly feedback on tasks set to assess progress during tutor sessions.
