Home Tuition for Maths and Chemistry in Glasgow

I'm a qualified science teacher and experienced university lecturer with over 10 years of experience teaching students from age 11 all the way up to postgraduate level.

I’m passionate about helping students succeed at every stage — whether they’re preparing for GCSEs, building confidence at A-Level, or looking for expert support with university coursework. I bring warmth, structure, and real-world insight to science lessons, helping learners grow in both understanding and confidence.

Tutoring Experience

I am a fully qualified secondary school teacher, with experience teaching science (biology, chemistry, and physics) to pupils aged 11–18, including post-16 applied science and A-Level biology. I understand how to tailor lessons to suit different ability levels, exam boards, and learning styles.

I currently lecture at the University of Stirling, where I teach and support undergraduate and postgraduate students in biology, ecology, and environmental science. Alongside this, I’ve worked for The Open University and the University of Glasgow in similar teaching roles.

I have extensive experience working one-on-one with students — both in person and online — and know how to create a supportive and engaging environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and making progress.

Tutoring Approach

My approach is calm, supportive, and highly adaptable. I tailor each lesson to suit the individual student’s needs and pace, helping to build both subject knowledge and confidence. I break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps and use plenty of real-world examples to make science feel relevant and accessible.

For school students, I focus on helping you understand key concepts, tackle exam questions with confidence, and develop strong revision strategies. For university students, I can support with coursework, projects, research skills, and scientific writing.

Above all, I aim to make learning enjoyable and rewarding — and to help every student achieve their full potential.
