I am a wife to my Engineering Lecturer husband and Mum to my 8 year old daughter (who loves space!) and Step Mum to 2 grown up boys (both of whom love cars!). We love walking in the countryside and also travelling through France (when we are allowed). I work as a Civil Servant helping people to develop their career which I love and it enables me to work part time and enjoy my family life too.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced Secondary School Teacher and Head of Department in Business Studies, Enterprise and Preparing for Working Life. In addition, I led Primary liaison at KS2 - teaching Year 4, 5 and 6 students financial literacy, including understanding money and how to save. I created and led Enterprise Days for Year 6 pupils, enabling then to work with local and national business and learn about working life.

With 13 years of teaching experience. I was Head of Business Studies and also an ICT teacher. I have taught GCSE Business Studies, ICT, Preparing for Working Life and Geography.

I have also taught French and Geography to KS2 and KS3 students.

My particular interest is helping young people of all ages to prepare for working life through teaching useful study and life skills, and also understanding choices available after GCSE and A-Levels.

Tutoring Approach

I have a calm and flexible approach to teaching and can differentiate to all levels. I have a clear voice where students feel comfortable to ask questions and can learn at ease.
