I am an honours chemistry graduate with many years of teaching experience. As a current Examiner and Item (Question) Writer with one of the main examination boards, I feel I am in a position to guide and help students effectively and in such a way that they may realise their full potential.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in both the state and independent sectors, and consequently have experience of students from a wide range of backgrounds, and with varying degrees of abilty. In addition, I have extensive experience ( over 27 years) as a private, one-on-one tutor.

Tutoring Approach

Tutoring will take place in my home as I do not travel. Invariably, improved grades in public examinations is the usual aim. Hence, tutoring is mainly, but not exclusively, centred around likely questions and how best to address them. Having a grasp of a particular body of knowledge is one thing, but giving the examiner what he/she is asking for is a different skill altogether, but one which can be taught.
