My son has found John incredibly informed and very helpful in supporting him in the different areas of history he has to cover. I would definitely recommend.
Update: John continued to support my son, Leo, with work on The Crusades and Modern Britain. Leo was most impressed with how much John knew about both these periods of history and said he was always kind and extremely helpful. He learnt a lot from John and it has put him in good stead for his future studies. Thank you so much John for your expertise and kindness.

John is absolutely fabulous in tutoring my son in his A level history studies. John teaching covers a depth of contextual knowledge within a broad spectrum of subject areas as laid out within the current schools curriculum. His teaching style offer simplicity within a relaxed environment this making lessons easy to understand and enjoyable.

John is tutoring our daughter for her history GCSE. From the first session it really felt like we had found the perfect fit. He has a fabulous knowledge of the subject and engages so well.
He is supportive and has really helped my daughter with revision advice and essay question preparation. We totally recommend John he has a real love for teaching and it shows.

John has been amazing in the 3 lessons my daughter has had so far. He has helped my daughter understand her A level history and what the examiners are looking for. He makes it clear and breaks it down in a way that she can understand. This has really boosted her confidence and hopefully will help her in the summer exams. There is some way to go yet but with John's help, she feels much more confident she will achieve it. Thank you!

John is a brilliant history teacher. He has a very in depth knowledge of many areas of history and is able to teach them very effectively. John is always professional and kind in his approach. He is reliable goes out of his way to help. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend John and will certainly contact him to help my younger children.

Highly recommended. My son had John help him through his second year for history A Level. Absolutely wonderful. A hidden gem. Definitely try him out. John has an intricate and deep knowledge of his subject and is able to convey exactly what needs to be done in order to push for a higher grade. My son really enjoyed his lessons and has learned so much and I have seen him progress massively and more importantly he walked into his A Level history exams confident and walked back out very happy. He has been guided extremely well. John marked his essays and his constructive feedback was always correct and in line with what his school teachers gave. John’s help has been fantastic. It will be the best decision you make for them. The difference that John makes is that he really cares about ensuring his student does well and believes in them and that’s what you need. We tried a few tutors before him and frankly no one has compared.

It’s not about the money with him, he routinely makes sure you fully understand the topic and what to change in order to advance your skill in the subject you’re being tutored for. He often went over the time limit with me, clearly showing he cares for his students.

John is extremely knowledgeable and has an excellent grasp of what is needed to excel in the subject. Moreover his manner, politeness and friendly demeanour set my daughter at ease, and in my opinion was significant to her success in her History A-level, in part giving her the confidence to choose it for her degree.

Over the years we have taken on a few tutors and can say without any reservation that John ticks all the boxes.

I would strongly recommend John as an A level Government and Politics Tutor. Sadly he did not work with my son for long before we were told that the A level exams were cancelled. But I did note that John provided useful material for my son from the very first session. I have no doubt that if we had carried on at that rate, my son's school and exam grades would have signficantly improved. I would also add that my son blatantly refused to have a tutor until he met John and saw how useful John and that first session was to him. I cannot praise John highly enough. Best wishes, Elaine

John, what a star! Our son's confidence was a bit put down with his History (Mock)GCSE results, therefore we had a slight panic as he wanted to do History for A level and needed a grade 6. John helped my son from earning a 4 to achieving an overall 6 - one of the papers (teachers request) will be remarked as they believe it is worthy of a 9.
