John is charming, self effacing but highly expert. I have really enjoyed learning from him so far, there is much to learn from him and I am looking forward to learning as much as I can.
It is a privilege to Tutor the Guitar for Andy who is of Professional Calibre and hope that what I am providing will be of major contribution to his ongoing musical journey

John is a fantastic teacher. I am learning harmonica and he is both very knowledgeable and patient. I am allowed to go at my own pace, while always having something new to learn. I would recommend John as a top class music teacher,

John is a very patient and enthusiastic guitar/mandolin teacher which is good because I'm a novice musician and my playing probably hurts his ears. He has taken on board my inspirations and musical preferences and he prepares appropriate pieces of music for us to try out in our lessons. I would gladly recommend John to anyone.
Its a pleasure to teach Monica. On the second session I was much encouraged by her positive step foward in her mastering the instrument. Understandably on the first attempt/lesson Monica couldn't hold the strings down sufficiently in order to get a clean sound. Second session though was, "perfect".
In order to compliment the Mandolins tone, I use a well used accompanying procedure on accoustic guitar which makes an attractive sound combination. I think my student will agree. We are concentrating on "first position/open" chord shapes to match favourite songs which went very well. When Monica, to her satisfaction, has fully mastered all the "Open" chords I would like, with her permission, to progress further onto the second position chords and some soloing in the Country and Western style. All this would be done @ a comfortable pace.
