I am friendly, enthusiastic and dedicated tutor and primary school teacher with a passion for helping all children to achieve their best and succeed with their academic goals. Whether they need additional support with subjects they currently have difficulties with or have ambitions to challenge their learning for entrance exams, I enjoy working with children from all educational backgrounds to make their learning fun, relevant and unique to them.
I have tutored numerous students through the 11+ CSSE exams and consider this to be my tutoring specialism. If you and your child are about to begin your 11+ journey and you have numerous questions buzzing around, I’m more than happy to answer any questions you have about these free of charge through this website.
I am extremely flexible with times and arrangements, so if you needed to make a last minute change, cancellation, or wanted an extra session, I will work with you to enable this. UPDATE September 2024 - At present, I am almost fully booked, so limited tutoring spaces are available. Please contact me for latest available tutoring times and I will try my best to accommodate you or I can add you to a waiting list.
Available to tutor for primary school ages for all purposes, working with parents/carers to decide on targets and aims of the tutoring. These can be taken from current school targets or assessed on an individual basis during sessions. Regular feedback and discussions with parents about your child's progress as part of the fee.
GCSE and KS3 level mathematics now available too due to requests from current students. I have a secure subject knowledge in this area, and enjoy helping older children to clearly understand the more complex mathematics at this level.
Additional homework set if required.
Session resources included as part of my fee.
DBS available if required.
Finally, a reference from a parent which inspired me to continue my tutoring journey:
"Hi Jonathan, I have some amazing news! It was the year 6 leavers assembly and L**** got most academically improved award! His SATS results was amazing as well, 104 for reading, 101 for maths and 100 for English spag!
I thought you would want to hear that all your hard effort over the years has really paid off."
I look forward to hearing from you and being a part of your child's learning journey!
