We contacted Jonathan asking for his help with AS level Government and Politics, it was a new subject for our daughter and she was finding it quite tricky, it was late in the academic year and her exam was approaching fast. As her tutoring began we were really impressed how quickly and efficiently Jonathan was able to improve her confidence and bring some clarity to this subject, and are delighted to report that she achieved an A, we are over the moon - diolch yn fawr!!!

Our son has thoroughly enjoyed his sessions with Jon. He is about to resit his Politics A Level and is now going into this with a proper plan and feeling confident. Jon has really encouraged his love of the subject through lively debate and questioning, exactly what Lewis needed. Regardless of the result, it has been an really enriching experience and we hope to stay in touch for the future. Thank you Jon!

Jon is worth every penny ! My son has just received the results of his GCSE resit for English Language and not only gone up a grade (just short of two, in fact) but achieved exactly what he needed to progress to university with ambitions to study engineering. My son genuinely enjoyed the classes with Jon from the outset, in a subject he finds really challenging, and began to gain confidence after a few weeks. We had approx. 8 weeks of tutoring, two lessons a week (at the same time as a busy schedule of A levels maths and sciences) and my son felt calm, ready, and able to sit the exam. Afterwards, he was sure he'd made it, and he did. Phew !! Thank you so much Jon !!

I can't recommend Jon enough! Following my son's mock exams it was evident that he needed some extra support to pass his English GSCE.
We therefore sat down together to talk about what we could do and agreed that we should try a tutor.
After the first lesson with Jon we knew it was the right decision, as my son came bounding out of the room and advised that he had learned more in that 1 lesson compared to the last 5 at school!
The final proof was when he opened his GCSE envelope to see a pass in both English Language and Literature. He was so pleased with himself as he had achieved the grades he needed to attend 6th Form and start his A-Levels.

Jon is an absolutely professional tutor. From the first moment my daughter enjoyed all his lessons. No matter what the problem was, Jon helped my daughter to solve it. Due to a very poor teaching in her Sixth Form in English Language, her A level course was given back and had to restart just 5 weeks before the deadline and with Jon's help and support not only academically,but mentally,giving her confidence and beliefs in herself she managed to gain an A result. I would definitely highly recommend him!!

Jon is an excellent tutor he quickly assessed where my daughters leaning gaps and needs were and has helped her so much. He is helpful and gifted at tutoring kids so they understand exactly what they need to change or improve on. We will be using Jon for all of our children.

Jon provided tutoring/support for my daughters A level English. By helping her with the general understanding of the subject and helping to boost her confidence she was able to achieve a higher grade then was originally predicted. I would highly recommend Jon's services.

My son had English tutoring from Jon leading up to his GCSEs. After just a few weeks I could see his confidence increase and he really enjoyed the sessions. Jon was great with him and prepared him excellently for his exams. He went from a predicted a 4/5 to an 8 !!! Jon has a unique ability to get students onboard in a short amount of time. He is quick to establish a rapport, building on trust and confidence which makes an ideal platform for focussed learning. He is heavily in demand which speaks volumes in terms of his reputation and is super knowledgable and prepared for all elements of the syllabus. It's a very welcomed approach and one which should be more evident in main stream schooling! He comes highly recommended.

My son exceeded his Maths and English target grades (Levels 8 & 6) following 12 months worth of lessons with Jonathan. He thoroughly enjoyed his lessons and clearly benefitted from them. Never passed an English test before in my whole life then came to Jonathan with very little time for my first GCSE exam and managed to get an A for English literature and a B for creative writing. 10/10.

English wasn't my son's favourite subject and for his GCSE exams he needed every mark possible, at least a 6 in English so he can secure a place in an outstanding sixth. Form. Though we are in Bartley Green, I am so glad I found Jon through this site. My son's writing and understanding of English language have improved massively. It was truely worth the travel for a two-hour lesson each Sunday with another student. It was also a good idea to attend with another student as it gave a bit of competition and took the attention off my shy son. Jon was friendly , flexible and professional with great understanding of the exam, marking scheme and how the whole process works. We feel lucky to book a place with him early on as he seemed to be full booked before December. We r very grateful for all his efforts he's made with my son and look forward for the exam and results day.

I have waited until today to give my feed back, today is GCSE result day, my daughter was hitting 'F's' in her English and was going into free fall. All other subjects she was flying high, but In English, she hit a brick wall.

I read Jon's reviews and although he lived a good 20 miles away from us, his reviews were about 'breaking down barriers to learning!'

Today I can tell you he was worth every penny, every early get up on a Saturday and every mile up the M5.

Jonathan has a unique way of teaching and offers very personalised learning, listening intently to parents concernswhilst finding a way through to the student. Our daughter is starting to build greater confidence in her ability to self learn and improve her comprehension skills, all down to the perseverance of jons continuous support.

All going great with Jon, George is totally happy to see him which is a miracle at 3pm on a Saturday. So far so good after 3 sessions - George appears to be making progress and is engaged with the work that is being done. The subject matter is right up his street!! (linked to computer games).

I took Jonathan's details as my daughter needed help with essay writing for her A2 history exam on Angevin Kings. As it turned out she managed to get that help from her school teachers so she did not actually get any tutoring from Jon. However, I can report that in our email communication he was very polite and helpful and even though he hadn't done the syllabus he was prepared to quickly review it in his own time so that he would be able to help my daughter. On this basis I would recommend him thoroughly. Although he lives outside Bham he did offer on-line tutorials and online marking of practice essays- but my daughter didn't have enough time to get round to this!

Within a short space of time, my daughter has significantly improved her essay writing ability and has gained confidence in herself. Thank you very much Jon!

My Son is being tutored by Jon in both English and History. Jon has been patient in accommodating tutoring times and more importantly getting to know my son. Jon is a natural and enthusiastic teacher and this clearly transfers into motivating his pupils! The biggest testimonial comes from my son, who now looks forward to and enjoys his weekly visit! praise indeed from a teenager!

I could not have wished for a better tutor for my son! I cannot praise Jon's enthusiasm for his subject, motivational skills and professionalism enough. He immediately identified some important learning difficulties that had not been picked up by any of my son's school teachers in all they years they've known him. We have now been able to work on these, and his confidence has grown considerably. My son has at last found someone with whom he can work hard, yet talk to as a friend and still know that he is learning so much from every tutorial.

Jonathan is fantastic and my 15 years old have a big turn round about his view of education. Now he can't wait for his lesson!

Ben has had three lessons so far and I have seen a marked improvement, Jon has listened to Bens needs and has developed a study plan in order for Ben to acheive his goal.The one to one tuition is advantageous in so many different ways any specific issues Ben has Jon irons them out straight way! So far so good.
