A teacher of History, Politics and Art for over 30 years. Working mainly in the UK state sector, and independent schools since 2013. Currently Director of a University Foundation Programme - overseeing assessment creation for 13 subjects. I also own and run a small Art Gallery in Essex.

Tutoring Approach

I aim to tailor every lesson to the individual, recognising that each student has unique needs and learning barriers. The beauty of one-on-one tuition is that it allows for a personalised approach, unlike the ‘one size fits all’ methods often necessary in schools, where hundreds of students must be taught each week. My teaching style is informal but rigorous, designed to meet each student where they are and push them towards their best. I have extensive experience preparing GCSE and A Level students in Politics, History and Art, helping them to achieve their highest potential and/or exploring beyond the syllabus. At the same time, I have supported students with learning difficulties such as ASD and dyslexia, adapting my methods to those struggling academically, even to the point of dropping out. Every student has their own unique challenges and I see my role as not just teaching but also guiding, organising, and inspiring each student to reach their fullest potential.
