I graduated from Staffordshire University with a First-Class Honours in Sport and Exercise Science. I received a First-Class Honours for my PGCE at Keele University and I am keen to further utilise my academic expertise, specifically in both Science and P.E, to create a wider impact for young learners.

I am a reflective practitioner that aims to secure maximum progress over time with every student that I teach, enabling them to enhance holistically (both personally and academically) through innovative tailored/personalised teaching approaches.

I have always had a strong passion for P.E and Sport Science which led to intrigue surrounding Science. I have had the pleasure of teaching both Science and P.E since I started teaching 6 years ago and I consistently use research and reflection to refine my practice to secure the best possible outcomes for every student that I teach.

Tutoring Experience

I have vast experience teaching Science (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), GCSE P.E and BTEC Sport to KS3, KS4 and KS5. I have taught a wide variety of students since I started teaching 7 years ago and secured significant progress over time with students that have a range of abilities and varying learning needs.

I have taught in a variety of schools across Staffordshire, both before my teacher training and after and this has provided an invaluable insight into the importance of setting high standards to ensure all learners achieve their academic targets and beyond.

Following my PGCE at Keele University, I have gained various qualifications to enhance my professional profile in both Science and P.E, for example, courses related to the curriculum and also coaching courses to enhance my knowledge of a wide variety of sports. Also, I have completed a Masters in Educational Leadership which has allowed me to learn the key principles of how students' learn and how to accommodate for every learner as an individual by creating an inclusive stimulating learning environment for all involved.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that the key to effective teaching is building rapport and understanding each students learning needs/requirements before preparing any teaching approach. Differentiation is integral to ensure that each student is suitably supported and appropriately challenged in accordance with their current abilities to ultimately enable each student to showcase and realise their true potential. My tutoring will focus on the specific subject specification that you require to ensure that key content, key words, key concepts and fundamental skills are learnt for the assessment procedure. I will provide a creative/innovative tutoring approach that is stimulating and motivating for all learners and also provide a variety of key revision strategies that can be used both during tuition and most importantly, independently following tuition to reinforce learning.
