Hi! I'm Jude, in my second year studying a Masters in Neuroscience & Psychology at the University of Bristol. I love my course, and enjoy translating big concepts into swallow-able ones. As a student, I have more free time than those in the professional world and have not forgotten the feeling of a school environment. Combined with my experience in tutoring, and affable approach to teaching, I am confident I can help students improve grades and learn.
I've done a years worth of volunteer tutoring with Coachbright, a program aiming to aid social mobility through providing free tutoring to disadvantaged kids. Through this program I was taught formally and through experience skills around engagement, communication, lesson planning, flexibility and, crucially, approaching learning with the right amount of lightness.
My approach is one of staying friendly, inspiring engagement, and honouring the moods and temperament of a student on a given day. As someone who left education fairly recently I know the balancing act between 'gaming' the system to get the best grades possible and keeping a student inspired. I am confident I can do this well.
