I am an enthusiastic and committed educator having worked as a 1-on-1 tutor and as a teacher in a leading independent school (91% A*- A grades at GCSE). I graduated from Bristol University in 2017 with an English Literature degree after attending Alleyn's School. At A-Level I gained 3 A*s in Politics, Theatre Studies and English Literature (in which I achieved full marks) and 9A*s at GCSE.

From 2017-2018 I worked as a full-time teacher in a leading independent school, which has given me invaluable insight into current exam boards, revision technique and mark schemes. During this time I interviewed 11+, 13+ and 16+ candidates so have a current understanding of what makes a successful applicant.

I have tutored at Primary, 11+, KS3, GCSE, A-Level and Undergraduate level since 2015 and I pride myself on a tailored teaching approach that discovers the key to the individual’s interest in the subject and uses this as the blueprint for high achievement.

Tutoring Experience

• Between 2018-2019 I tutored 11+ and 13+ students who gained offers from Alleyn's, JAGS, Dulwich College, Whitgift, St Pauls, Eton and Newstead Wood
• In 2019 I tutored three students with predicted 6s (B Grade) in English Literature and Language to 8s (A*) in their final GCSE exams. I also taught a student who was predicted 5s (C) and then achieved a 7 (A) and 8 (A*) in English Language and Literature respectively. I pride myself on helping students find what excites them about a subject in order for them to reach their full potential.
• I teach students at primary level in a vast range of subjects. I work hard to support a child through their education by ensuring our tailored lessons are in keeping with the curriculum and teaching style of their school, whilst also finding ways to stretch them in areas they excel in.
• I have been trained in remote learning and have been teaching online for the last three years so really know how to ensure a high level of learning in an online setup.

Tutoring Approach

I pride myself on a tailored teaching approach that discovers the key to the individual's interest in the subject and uses this as the blueprint for high achievement in an exam context. I prepare students by firstly informally assessing them before our first session in order to work out the areas in which they need the most support to be able to then create tailored lessons.
If we are working towards specific exams, I will set exam style questions throughout the process as I feel it is incredibly important for the student to understand both the mark scheme and what level they are performing to at all times. The introduction of past papers, timed work and specific exam technique in the final third of the process focuses the student's knowledge to the all-important application in an exam context.
