I ama 62-year-old lifelong learner with a wide array of interests and colourful career path. I semi-retired to the Highlands recently and have for the last couple of years enjoyed mentoring students in a couple of local schools. I have enjoyed this so much, and realised that I am a rather proficient teacher. I love imparting some of the knowledge and skills I have accumulated.
Apart from the mentoring mentioned above, I have had a long working life in a number of different areas. I have been employed as an antiquarian bookseller and restorer; a taxi driver; a film studio manager; as well as, fro the 25 years prior to relocating to the Highlands, an editor in London, producing news digests for a variety of businesses and institutions, including the Bank of England, the Scottish Parliament and the Royal Family.
I would adopt a very bespoke approach to each student, trying to find areas where I could be helpful, and then developing a relationship based on mutual trust and understanding with a view to facilitating any desired career direction.
