I am a highly motivated Media and Film Studies teacher, who is dedicated to enabling students to fulfil and even exceed their potential. I have a strong passion for exploring and interrogating key issues associated with the media today and this is something I look to encourage my students to do also. This is key to offering energetic and engaging approach to teaching the subject. From my experience as a Subject Leader for Media Studies, I look encourage students to analyse the media by making it relatable to their own lives and practices.
I am a successful Media and Film Studies teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching various exam boards. I currently work as a Subject Leader for Media Studies in a North London school. I have proven and sustained record of adding value to students with many surpassing their minimum target grade by achieving the higher grades. My success has been facilitated by my desire to provide students with a high quality learning experience. I have worked as an examiner for GCSE in the past, which has given me a greater understanding of the key skills need to achieve in exams.
My teaching style focuses on developing students' subject knowledge as it is the foundation of developing the skills needed in order to succeed in exams. Therefore, lesson's look to help students link key concepts and terminology to exam style questions and prior learning. This is supported by developing a strong collaborative relationship whereby students are encouraged through clear communication and guidance to build on their strengths as well as attend to areas of improvements. I look to tailor lesson to the student's need in order to maximize the effectiveness of the lesson.
