My name is Jun. I'm a native Mandarin Chinese speaker from China but I've been living in the UK for the last 10 years. I trained and worked as a teacher in China and I've continued to teach in schools as well as providing 1 to 1 tuition here in England.

Tutoring Experience

I've worked for 17 years as a language teacher teaching at all levels from beginner to advanced and all age groups from pre-school to adult. I can help you develop your general day to day Mandarin skills and I also have a lot of experience helping students prepare for specific tests including the YCT ,HSK ,GCSE and A-levels.

In 2023, I was named the outstanding Chinese teacher of the year by the UK Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education.

Tutoring Approach

I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that fosters student growth and success. To do this, I create a safe and supportive environment where students feel confident to express themselves and ask questions. Engaging students in the learning process by encouraging them to participate in the creation of their syllabus, ask questions, and work collaboratively with me towards their goals is a key to my teaching approach. I am an expert in personalising instruction and recognise that every student is unique and has different learning needs. I provide all my students with constructive feedback that focuses on what they've done well and how they can improve.
