I have been a teacher of History and English since 2003. I am currently working in a London school. I am part of the HFL project which is focused on raising literacy skill amongst students with low reading ages in our school.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught English GCSE and A-level History in several London schools. I have been an examiner with Edexcel and AQA since 2012.

Tutoring Approach

In the classroom I use varied learning activities such a group discussion, sorting activities, visual resources such as documentaries and short videos for content. I use exemplars to demonstrate to students the difference between a high or low level response to exam questions. But for tutoring, I assess the student’s base knowledge and plan my sessions accordingly.
