I am a UK-qualified primary teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching children aged 5–11. Throughout my career, I have held leadership positions, including Head of Early Reading and currently Head of Year 2. I am passionate about fostering a love of learning in children, especially through reading, as I am an avid reader who appreciates the power and beauty of words. My teaching journey has been built on the belief that every child deserves an inspiring and supportive environment to grow, learn, and thrive.
As a dedicated educator and leader, I have developed expertise in creating engaging and effective learning experiences. My role as Head of Early Reading allowed me to nurture young readers and implement strategies that build lifelong literacy skills. Currently, as Head of Year 2, I guide both children and colleagues to meet high academic and personal goals while fostering a sense of community and belonging. I have also worked with children from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, equipping them with the tools to succeed in an ever-changing, interconnected world. My experience spans not only core subjects but also innovative projects that encourage collaboration, creativity, and curiosity.
I believe learning should be a fun and engaging experience for every child. Play is at the heart of my teaching philosophy because I know children learn best when they are actively involved and enjoying the process. I strive to tailor lessons to meet each child’s unique needs and interests, creating an inclusive and supportive environment where they feel confident to explore, ask questions, and take risks. Beyond academics, I am passionate about preparing children to become thoughtful global citizens, equipping them with the skills and confidence to embrace challenges, celebrate diversity, and contribute positively to our world.
