I am friendly and organised mum of 2 with over 15 years teaching experience in high schools and 10 years tutoring experience in Norfolk. I lived in France and the Netherlands attending international schools until moving to Norfolk for my university studies. I am passionate about all things French and language learning and understand first hand the barriers that students encounter particularly in a busy classroom. My 15 years experience in building and designing student centric curriculum have enabled me to hone a fun and supportive approach centred on building confidence and independence. I truly believe that with the right tools anyone can pick up a language and unlock a world of opportunities.
I have taught in secondary schools in Norfolk since 2010 building to my current position running a successful language department which achieves above national average results at GCSE every year. I have extensive experience with both AQA and EDEXCEL exam boards and have also tutored students through IGCSE and common entrance exams through my work as a tutor. I specialise in identifiying gaps in students' core knowledge, building confidence, grammar instruction and exam preparation. I have also taught beginners French to year 5 and 6 students.
I believe tutoring should be focused on the individual. I design resources to support students at all levels of their learning adapting to the gaps in their knowledge that we identify together. Learning in my sessions is scaffolded and varied. From worksheets and hand designed grammar activities to interactive games and exam style tasks. My objective is to build confidence through targeted practice and repetition in a relaxed and enjoyable environment.
