I am a master’s degree educated, qualified EFL teacher. I enjoy using creativity to produce empowering lessons to inspire a class. I recognise the value of individual differences in learning styles and am highly competent at ensuring that my teaching can capture the needs of my students. I use the communicative approach to teaching, ensuring that we focus on using realistic, natural language to ultimately work towards fluency.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified EFL teacher, with extensive experience in teaching and supporting individuals through personal development. I am a qualified UK Physiotherapist, with a Master’s degree in leadership and a Level 5 qualification in coaching and mentoring. Teaching encompasses every aspect of my career so far, from educating patients and delivering guest lectures at the University of Winchester to leading on organisational change processes. I am adept at providing empowering education in formal group settings as well as coaching and mentoring individuals on a 1:1 basis to develop their skills and confidence to be the best they can be, unlocking potential and empowering personal development.

I bring empathy, enthusiasm and confidence to my teaching, and I particularly excel at working with learners starting out on their journeys, helping them identify personal objectives and the roadmap to achieving them. I was nominated in the UK Healthcare Honours programme in 2022, in the ‘New Talent’ category, which aims to celebrate young managers who exemplify and deliver compassionate, effective leadership. My ability to motivate people translates directly into the EFL environment.

Tutoring Approach

I take a communicative approach to teaching, using a vast range of resources tailored to the learner's needs. I particularly value the importance of use of authentic texts in the learning journey and I can appreciate the satisfaction it brings when the learner is able to understand and use a text written for native speakers!

I have completed three top-up courses post my main TEFL qualification, which allow me to offer a specialism in online teaching, for both business learners and young learners.
