I am an English teacher who absolutely loves her subject and teaching it to others! I currently work in an Independent School in England where I teach English Language and Literature up to GCSE level.
I am an experienced English teacher who has taught the AQA English Language and Literature curriculums for the past five years in both state and independent schools. My area of specialism is preparation for the GCSE, however I also have extensive knowledge of the KS3 curriculum, and the requirements of the English Common Entrance exams undertaken in preparatory schools in England.
I am also an examiner for AQA GCSE Literature and Language.
I have a supportive teaching approach which aims to nurture, encourage, and above all, build confidence in the subject area.
My experience has shown that students are often mystified by what an excellent English essay should look like as there is no objective 'right' answer. I use lots of exemplars to demonstrate what success in English exams looks like and how to deconstruct and replicate these answers.
My experience as an AQA examiner also means I am able to give my students helpful exam tips and accurate information about what examiners are looking for when they are marking exam scripts.
