I have a First Class Honours degree in Science and a PhD in Chemistry. I also hold a recent enhanced DBS check certificate which has been verified by First Tutors. I am an experienced teacher of 22 years and Head of Department. I am available to teach A-level Chemistry and GCSE Chemistry by OCR, AQA and Edexcel. I am the creator of the channel science123UK. I have a long service certificate from OCR for my services as an examiner for many years. I am also patent holder for my work creating technologically important materials using a domestic microwave oven in just 10 minutes rather than using an expensive and high temperature furnace which usually takes several days.
Enhanced DBS check dated December 2023.
I have an online booking system which has lots of free resources which I provide access to once First Tutors release my details.#/k#

Tutoring Experience

22 years experience in secondary schools teaching Science up to Advanced level. I have vast tutoring experience.

I have also been an examiner and moderator for the OCR and AQA exam boards for several years which has given me a valuable insight into the examination process. I have a long service certificate from OCR.

I have a lot of experience in tutoring and have had very successful results including students who have progressed to medical school and for turning U grades into A* grades as shown in my reviews.

Tutoring Approach

I tutor to each student's personal needs through discussion and assessment. Through this I am able to tailor my approach according to the student's individual learning style. I also include study skills in my teaching where appropriate and given regular constructive feedback. I have a wide breadth of resources to cover all areas of the subjects offered many of which are written by myself with the intention of maximising impact.

I develop supportive relationships with students and help them to become confident and independent learners by helping them to develop the resilience needed to achieve their goals.

I tutor in my own home. I also tutor online.
