I completed my PhD in Mathematics at Swansea University and now work as a statistician. My academic interests were in pure maths (commutative algebra, algebraic geometry and combinatorics in particular), but I am just as happy to tutor statistics and mechanics up to A level, or statistics for social sciences.
I reаlly enjоy bоth mаths аnd teаching, аnd I've been tutoring for over ten years now. I hope to inspire others to see as much beauty in the subject as I do (as well as pass their exams!)
I have over ten years of experience tutoring both one-on-one and in small groups. I've tutored in person and online via Skype and Zoom.
My approach varies depending on each student's individual needs. A typical first lesson usually involves some assessment questions and a discussion about what areas you'd like to focus on. Moving forwards, we usually decide on a topic in advance and I will provide worksheets and some examples to go through together. I think maths is best taught with some context, so I like to emphasise the connections between different parts of the syllabus and share a bit of history alongside the practice required to master each topic.#/k#
