I graduated in Immunology and Microbiology with honors from Strathclyde university. I have been teaching biology and science for 11 years and I work in a local secondary school.
During school I was given the opportunity to help pupils in all year groups with biology and basic science, This helped me to realise my passion for teaching. I have now been teaching for 11 years including general science, National 3, 4 and 5 Biology, Higher Biology and Higher Human Biology.
First approach would be to find out what the student knows and understands, and if there is any problems or areas of difficulty, these would be concentrated on first. Also try to relate curriculum to experiences the student has had to try to make them see things in a different light. Exam preparation is key to sucess and will make up a large portion of each lesson. I am a relaxed and friendly person and have used various ways of studying myself which I can hopefully pass on to other students, so they too can be successful.
