I am an 11-18 secondary school teacher of Religious Studies and Philosophy and have been teaching for over 20 years. I have worked in schools in England and Wales and am currently based in a secondary school in Bridgend. I believe every student has the ability to achieve and work with them to find the best approach to revision.
I completed my PGCE in Gloucestershire and then moved up to Buckinghamshire. Whilst there I was Assistant Head of RE, undertook several CPD courses and was a GCSE examiner for the OCR exam board. In 2010 I moved back to Wales and have been teaching in the same school in Bridgend ever since. I have undertaken a temporary role as Assistant Head of RE and facilitated revision conferences for our ALevel students. I have previously privately tutored in this area. For the past two years I have also been a WJEC examiner for the AS Philosophy course.
I am flexible in my approach and truly believe that every student learns in a different way... one approach does not fit all. I aim to personalise learning, making in interactive and working with the learners to help them access the information they need. I also work to help them understand exam technique so they can deal with the questions they face in a consistent and confident manner... in the final exam they need to know technique as well as content to achieve their best.
