Hi I’m Kim and I’m a 3rd year medical student at University of Liverpool. I’m a bubbly, approachable and patient person who loves helping others to achieve their goal. I took Biology Chemistry and Physics A levels and I enjoyed them all!
I have no formal teaching experience.
I currently mentor at my university where I teach and advise younger years about the course content and how to manage it. I have taught in revision sessions for younger years e.g teaching them cardio revision, gastro revision.
I achieved A*AA in Biology Chemistry and Physics A levels.
I offer a relaxed yet structured approach when it comes to teaching. I believe it is important to have a good relationship with the student to better understand their learning techniques and which methods suit them. I tailor my tutoring to suit their needs whether it is pneumonics, diagrams, mind maps etc. I am adaptable and patient as I understand science can be tricky at times - I was once a confused GCSE student also!
I am also aware of how crucial it is to refer back to the syllabus and mark schemes especially for exams. Exam-style questions are the best way to learn for GCSE sciences as well as spaced repetition.
Active recall little and often is very important, and I would implement a 5-10 minute starter task at the beginning of every lesson about a topic we have covered previously, to see how much knowledge has been retained long term.
