I am positive, friendly person who aims to get the best out of my students by working with them to identify areas that they need to improve upon and tailoring my teaching to ensure success. I specialise in English language GCSE resits and English GCSE literature.

Tutoring Experience

I am an experienced English lecturer and AQA examiner. I have a very high in-class pass rate and a 100% tutee success pass rate. I have worked in education for over twenty years in a range of roles including English Literacy Coordinator, SEN higher level teaching assistant and more recently as a Psychology and English lecturer at both level 2 (GCSE) & Level 3 (A-level).

Tutoring Approach

I will provide a range of topics and materials which are centered around the essential skills needed to pass the exams. I will also provide a selection of past exam papers so that you can complete them in your own time and I will mark them and give you purposeful feedback. I can then tailor your learning to bridge any gaps in your knowledge and together we can work on the skills that you need to improve on ready for the exams in the summer. An initial assessment will provide me with an indication of any areas that you may need to improve on. Learning checks throughout your tutoring sessions will also allow us both to monitor your progress and flag up any areas of concern.
