My name is Kimberley and I have been teaching for 15 years. I have taught in a variety of public and private schools and have gained extensive knowledge of my subject and the best techniques to ensure all students succeed.I have a great passion for my subject and adore literature and the written word.
I feel that my approachable nature ensures tutees have the confidence to discuss areas they find challenging. I have a 100% pass rate for both Higher and National 5 and ensure my tutees receive the highest level of support.
I have been an educator for 15 years. In my career I have worked with a variety of different students from a range of different backgrounds. I have worked all over Scotland and have also worked in Qatar as an English Teacher and Head of Year. I have been tutoring for over 12 years and I have an aptitude for ensuring even students who struggle with the subject pass and gain confidence within English. I work both privately and within a secondary school.
I have worked with students from Primary school up until adults.I have also taught English as a Second Language both in Qatar and in an International Summer School in Arrochar.
My main focus is secondary school students completing National 3,4&5 and Higher. I specialise in young people who have an ASN need and have extensive training in dyslexia techniques.
I am a qualifications manager for the SQA as well as a marker and verifier.
My approach is to build the confidence of the student I am working with and my 100% pass rate attests to this. Many of my tutees feel that English is a subject they struggle to grasp or succeed with. By breaking down the key elements and ensuring essential skills are taught and developed I know that all students can gain their English qualification.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I understand the meaning of a good teacher and I strongly believe this is not simply an academic. A good teacher must be approachable and understanding. In order to engage young learners we have the responsibility as educators to spark their interest and keep them engaged. It is my vocation and passion to work with young people and I believe that when being tutored young people should be put at ease and be encouraged by an enthusiastic individual who has a passion and commitment to their success. Often with students it is lack of confidence which holds them back. I believe that working on both this and their skill development ensures success.
