I am of a mixed-race heritage which has allowed me to gain an insight on different Indic Traditions and sparked my interesting in developing knowledge of different Dharmic faiths. I have recently started practising Sikhi to a greater extent within my life and this has given me an element of lived-experience that I have been able to reflect on within my job, as an RE Teacher.
I am currently a qualified teacher that specialises in delivering high-quality teaching in Religious Education. I have worked within education for the past 3-years and recently qualified as a teacher after graduating from the University of Birmingham. Allowing me to gain experience from very experienced teachers and understanding of AQA assessment criteria for RE.
I feel that I have an adaptive style of teaching that can meet the needs of my learners. I feel that my emphasise of late has been on Scaffolded learning to support students in developing clearly structured GCSE answers that can benefit students in gaining marks within their papers. I am currently teaching GCSE Christianity and Islam, but I have also previously made a guide to completing GCSE Buddhism (AQA Specification) as an undergraduate and I feel that I could also be supportive in teaching GCSE Sikhi and Hinduism.
