I'm a research chemist with a passion for sharing my knowledge and wealth of experience with others. I principally tutor A level Chemistry and Maths (& Further). I also have experience with Oxbridge applications. Having graduated with a BA in Natural Sciences from University of Cambridge I then undertook a Masters of research in Chemistry at Imperial College London. I am now pursuing tutoring full time and helping tutees grow and supporting them through the next stages in their education.
I offer a free first session; this effectively means the one-off First Tutors fee is on me. It also allows me to get to know the student a bit better, gain an understanding of aims and expectations, and develop a plan for the coming sessions should you wish to continue.
I have experience with one to one tutoring A-level Chemistry & Maths as well as Oxbridge applications.
I also tutor most undergraduate Chemistry topics, as well as maths for physical sciences, which I find really helps students excel in their field.
I further tutor GCSE sciences and am always excited to learn new topics, so do get in touch if you think I'd be a good fit, but your requirements don't exactly align with the above.

I like to have a relaxed but focused session allowing tutees to feel comfortable and really get the most out of their time. I like to cover topics from first principles whenever time permits, so that tutees can really get to grips with the content. Afterwards we work through some problems together and then I set some further work to do before the next session where we can tease out the fine details before continuing with the next section.
Where students are willing, I am a big advocate for pushing just a little beyond the course specification. Whilst some might consider this poor use of time, I find it hones the ability to apply core content to new areas and makes students feel much more comfortable when curveball questions come up in exams. I feel it is often the case that good students can miss out on the grades they deserve when they get worked up in the exam, so confidence is key. With this I believe all students should be capable of achieving at least an A!
As mentioned, I find it most valuable to set work to be done in advance of the session, hence my rate accounts for some marking time.
