I am an ex-Putney High, Warwick Biomedical Science graduate (2.1) Hons, currently studying towards my Clinical Neuroscience qualification and have a masters from Kings College London in Nutrition and public health (with merit). I have published research on the effects of food on mental health and next year my nutrition book is published. I have extensive knowledge of pre-GCSE, GCSE and iGCSE Science syllabuses as well as A level and IB Biology and Chemistry and University Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Nutrition, Oncology, Neuroscience and Pharmacology. I have a passion for translating science and helping build educational confidence in young people and adults and have been trained in stress reduction techniques from mindfulness to CBT to yoga and resilience training. I have been tutoring for 10 years, teaching ages 12-66 years across London, mainly Wimbledon, Surrey, Barnes, Putney and Kingston. I also have a Tefl teaching qualification and 2 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language. I have worked as a professional private tutor for clients from abroad and in bigger groups with Justin Craig GCSE and A level revision courses and pre-med courses and have experience with students with specific educational needs. I personalise each session to my student's personality and learning style and work methodically to ensure all syllabus is covered prior to exams.

Tutoring Experience

I have extensive teaching experience, having tutored extensively in South London through a number of the the Biology, Chemistry and Physics syllabuses for GCSE (students all got A*s- the equivalent of the new level 7-9 band), iGCSE and A level and University courses. I am currently private tutoring Edexcel iGCSE Biology and Chemistry and AQA Biology and A level students and a first year University Pharmacy student. I have specific skill with helping dyslexic and dyspraxic tutees and those interested in medicine. I am also TEFL qualified with classroom experience teaching adults and foreign students English with CES language schools. In the past I have taught high net worth individuals as a private tutor from schools such as Eton, St Pauls, Kings College Wimbledon and Winchester and worked in London state schools including Watford Grammar School, Lady Margarets Fulham and Ark Elvin Academy Wembley. More recently I have worked formally with Justin Craig revision courses, teaching classes school year 10, GCSE and iGCSE sciences (primarily Biology and Chemistry). I have also taught private tutee Medical, Neuroscience, PE and Physiotherapy and Pharmacy students from Kingston University, Sheffield, Nottingham and St Georges Universities. I adapt my style to the student and their needs and goals, helping to build confidence in self and their subject.

Tutoring Approach

I think that Biology is amazing and try and spread that enthusiasm to my students by applying visual aids and games and songs to help young people remember things. I am creative but methodical and practical to ensure all my syllabus is taught efficiently but that I keep my students interested in what they are learning.
