I am a fully qualified school teacher with more than 14 years experience. Since gaining my teaching qualification and MA in Education at the University of Bedfordshire, I have gone on to teach and hold additional senior responsibilities in two schools in Bedfordshire.

I am available to support your child with Key Stage 1 & 2 Maths and English and SATs preparation. I offer one to one tuition online (or at my home) and am willing to offer different rates for small groups. As well as tailoring lessons to specific subjects and skills, I am happy to go through homework from a range of subjects, do study skills or revision sessions - whatever is most helpful.

Tutoring Experience

I have spent most of my career teaching year 5/6 (9-10 year olds) and am very experienced at preparing children for their Year 6 SATs. I also teach exam techniques to boost progress and achieve the highest possible results. I have marked both reading and SPaG papers for the SATs test cycle 2020-2024. I take great pride in nurturing the youngsters that I teach, watching them grow in confidence and achieve their goals.

Tutoring Approach

My tuition approach is structured, personalised and professional. I use regular informal assessments to inform the next steps in my teaching and I work hard to tailor the tuition to meet the individual needs of each child. I work hard to keep my students engaged by presenting topics in a range of ways and by building their confidence through a range of activities. I’ve found that student confidence is the main driver of progress, so I take a supportive and friendly tone in my lessons. Each child is treated as an individual and I will prepare a programme that will accelerate their learning and allow them to achieve the very best that they can.
