Lauryn

Hello! I am Lauryn. I am a fully qualified Biology teacher currently working in Dundee. I have a BSc in Biological Sciences and a PGDE in Biology (with Science). I absolutely love my job and hope to spread my knowledge further to aid exam success.

Tutoring Experience

I have been on my teaching journey for 3 years, working with pupils from S1 to S6 from various areas in Scotland.

I studied both National 5 and Higher Human Biology at secondary school so I am very familiar with the course structure and work closely with the course specifications day to day.

I am a young STEM leader who is familiar with learner pathways to jobs.

Tutoring Approach

When tutoring, I ensure to create a supportive and engaging environment. Asking questions, providing examples, and breaking down concepts into smaller steps are key to narrowing any gaps in knowledge.

Identifying gaps the pupils knowledge is key to , then building up their understanding of these areas together. This enables us to work through questions and project work practicing the ways of thinking to be successful in exams.
