Hi, I'm Lavigne and I am working towards my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Edinburgh. Previously, I have studied at Dame Alice Owen's School, achieving A* A* A grades in Psychology, Spanish and History. I am committed to helping all student achieve their goals and tackle their challenges. If you’re looking for a tutor who is patient, supportive, and dedicated to helping you succeed, I’d love to work with you!
I have been a tutor since 2021 under Charlotte Coleman Tutoring, specialising in 11+ and 13+ entrance exams across the UK. I have conducted in person and online 1:1 as well as group tutoring sessions. Previous students of mine have been offered places at Tonbridge, Caterham, Sutton Valence and leading Kent Grammars. I also offer tutoring for GCSE Spanish students.
Every student has the potential to succeed, and my goal as a tutor is to guide students on their learning journey in a way that feels engaging, personal, and empowering. My approach centres around some of the following principles:
- Student-Centred Learning
I tailor each lesson to meet the unique needs and learning style of the student. and will adapt my teaching methods to suit individual strengths and challenges.
- Building Confidence
Learning can sometimes be daunting, but I focus on creating a supportive, low-pressure environment where making mistakes is seen as part of the learning process; the process can be more important than the answer.
- Active Learning
I encourage active participation rather than passive listening. Through problem-solving, discussion, and interactive exercises, I aim to help students actively engage with the material. This not only makes the learning process more interesting but also strengthens understanding and retention.
