Leanne

Hello! My name is Leanne. I am a Secondary PE teacher in a rated Ofsted Outstanding school, with 10 years teaching experience. I have taught A level PE, GCSE PE and BTEC PE. I am an examiner for OCR A-level PE and have moderated in GCSE/A-level PE (AQA/OCR). In addition to this, I have also taught AQA A-level Psychology.

Tutoring Experience

I am an approachable, patient and enthusiastic individual who has extensive experience in the industry. I have taught ages 11-18 years throughout my career, including KS3, KS4 & KS5 National Curriculum PE in addition to GCSE, A Level and BTEC Sport. I have also worked as an examiner for OCR so have an in-depth understanding of the exam syllabus and common misconceptions. I have also been involved in GCSE/A level PE moderations so have an solid understanding about the NEA components of the course. I have an excellent track record of ensuring students make significant progress and achieve their targets. I am also heavily involved in coaching and playing Netball, so I have an excellent understanding of Sport and how this practical experience can be applied to the theory elements of PE.

Tutoring Approach

I am a very flexible and approachable person who can tailor my teaching methods to meet the individual needs of the learner. I will listen to the learner, find out what their personal goals are and plan accordingly to meet these personal needs.
Subject knowledge will always be a focus first with further development on the application of sporting principles and evaluation skills. This will develop all assessment objectives to allow learners to reach their full potential. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and find it extremely rewarding to see the progress that students make.
