Hi there, I've been tutoring and teaching in several different contexts for over 13 years now. I'm currently offering private tutoring in Maths from KS1 to GCSE and English Literature and Language from KS1 to A-level.
I have been tutoring privately for the past decade in Surrey, London and Manchester. Over the years, I have nurtured memorable and effective relationships with students from many backgrounds, a range of needs and several different goals. My recent tutoring achievements have included helping students who have initially struggled to get through their Maths GCSEs with a pass mark to succeed in their November/January retakes.
I recently worked as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant in a Primary School for two years and have had extensive training in enabling students with dyslexia, autism, ADHD, dyspraxia and various neurological conditions to achieve their personal targets in both educational and social settings. I am familiar with and passionate about adapting the curriculum and learning style to the needs of the individual student, whether they have an EHCP/diagnosis or not.
Prior to this, my experience in the education sector also includes working as a Learning Support Assistant at a Further Education College and as a Project Officer at an education consultancy and support network in London. Currently, I volunteer for Citizens Advice and Working Families and am used to advising parents, carers and guardians on several complex topics.
I approach every student as a completely new and unique project and really take the time to get to know what it is they want to achieve and work through their specific barriers with them. I aim to do this in way that enables them to carry the skills they learn, such as how to motivate themselves and navigate obstacles, into other aspects of their education and wider life. I am always keen to get the input of the student in how we can go about progressing their knowledge in the most effective and sustainable way possible.
