I am a confident and passionate tutor who believes that all students should have the opportunity to come out of education with the best possible chance to achieve their dreams. Unfortunately, our current education system cannot do this for many students, my belief is that there are students who need a little bit of focused extra-curricular study time to be able to achieve grades that would be imposable within standard school hours. I was one of those students, and tutoring helped me get to where I am today, in a situation where I can now offer the same support that allowed me to achieve what seemed impossible to me during my early years of education.

Tutoring Experience

I have been a Tutor for 6 years, teaching for both both GCSE and A Level students, tutoring a range of subjects from Physics to History.
I have taught students aiming for the highest grades, focusing on specialised knowledge and complex exam skills as well as students looking for support passing their exams, focusing on more generalised knowledge and memorisation skills.

Tutoring Approach

Typically, I focus on the students needs to begin with, if they feel as if they lack in a certain area then supporting their will to learn a given topic is important. As the lessons progress I will then make a judgment on which other areas would be best to focus on. This is always discussed with the student so their willingness and motivation towards learning is conserved.
Throughout this process each lesson is tailored to the particular needs of the student, much of the preparation time for each lesson is focused on finding new strategies to approach topics that the student is struggling with in order to give them the highest chance of success in their exams.
Furthermore, I understand the importance of relaying the progress the student is making back to the parents or guardians to work with them if they think work could also be focused in a certain direction, giving faith in the quality of what I am teaching their child.
