I specialise in teaching those with neurodiverse needs including ADHD, autism and dyslexia. I am a competent, patient and emotionally intelligent teacher who has a strong love of English, but an even stronger desire to support young people who may struggle in a mainstream setting.
I am an ADHD life coach with two children with diagnosed ADHD. I mentor those with neurodiverse needs in a sixth form, tutor in the evenings and truly love what I do!
Over 25 years teaching in secondary schools across the north west, teaching all levels and abilities from year 7 to year 13. Five of those years were spent as a head of faculty and a leader and contributor to INSET training. I held the position of gifted and talented co-ordinator and head of whole school literacy. I have examined for two main exam boards several years in a row. This has given me strong insight into the rigours of the examinations which I can help prepare your child for.
I approach each student as an individual, tailoring my lessons to suit specific needs. I spend a great deal of time planning lessons that meet the bespoke needs of your child and feedback is instantaneous and kind! With a masters in psychology as well as English, I have a range of strategies and insights into the learning process and the importance of positive relationships.
