I am a qualified Primary Teacher with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education and over 20 years of experience in the classroom. Throughout my career, I have taken on a range of leadership responsibilities, including roles as a maths and computing lead, and have worked as an NCETM Maths Specialist supporting the development of high-quality teaching. I’ve also delivered Functional Skills programmes, allowing me to work with learners beyond the primary phase and develop a strong understanding of progression and practical application in learning.
My experience spans mainstream primary education, working predominantly across Key Stage 2. I’ve taught in a variety of settings, including inner-city and rural schools, and have supported learners across the full ability range. This includes children working at greater depth as well as those needing targeted support. I have extensive experience working with pupils with SEND, autism, and communication needs, but just as importantly, I have supported a wide range of learners in mainstream settings, helping each child to feel included, capable, and successful. More recently, I have begun to offer tuition to provide more personalised support outside of the classroom.
My teaching approach is calm, inclusive, and responsive. I believe that children learn best when they feel safe, supported, and understood. I create learning environments where making mistakes is seen as a natural and valuable part of the process, and I tailor each session to the individual, balancing structure with flexibility. My aim is always to build confidence, encourage independence, and help children develop both their skills and their enjoyment of learning.
