Louise

I'm a patient, enthusiastic teacher of Spanish and Italian, who is Head of Spanish at the school where I work. I teach pupils from 11-18 years old in Spanish and from 11-16 years old in Italian. I have experience in teaching to both the AQA and Pearson Edexcel exam boards. I believe that everyone can benefit from learning a foreign language as it unlocks the tools required to communicate well, not only in the foreign language but also in English. I aim to encourage a love of language (and of learning in general) both in the classroom environment as well as a means to communicate when travelling. I am able to adapt my teaching to get the best from each student.

In addition, I am a part-time freelance photographer and I also tutor both adults and teens in beginners photography (including pupils who are studying GCSE Photography).

Tutoring Experience

I'm a fully qualified teacher of Spanish and Italian with over 18 years experience teaching these languages in a secondary school, and Head of Spanish for over 12 years. I have a wealth of experience in private tutoring, teaching languages to primary and secondary school children and to adults. Additionally I have experience running group workshops and one-to-one in-person and online tuition in photography.

Tutoring Approach

I adapt my tutoring according to the requirements of the tutee, for both in-person and online tutoring. For example, I can give specific exam skills guidance for individual language areas such as speaking or writing practice, and I am aware of all changes to the National Curriculum which means I can share exam success criteria with students.
