Hi there! After completing a PhD and taking a year off to backpack through Latin America, I was hired as a scientist in a prestigious company based in Oxford. I have always loved languages, and I found teaching my Italian and English very exciting in the past. My strongest passions are travelling, everything related to nature and conservation, reading, cooking, dancing and practising yoga. I'm also keen on watching a good rubgy game and F1.
I have done private tutoring (biochemistry) at University level, and English, Maths and Chemistry for both kids (age 8-13) and high school students. During my PhD I was also a university teacher, helping out with different modules and students. I taught during practical sessions, answering questions that the students may have, making sure that everything was clear to them and they were able to work independently and safely. In addition, I also gave some lectures. Thanks to FirstTutors I found several students who wanted to learn Italian and I loved every minute of this experience. I also completed a TEFL course and I would like to teach online.
I believe that every student is different and requires different tutoring approaches. I find essential to sit down and have a chat about the difficulties that he/she is facing. It is essential that the student feels comfortable with me, not intimidated or afraid of asking questions. Whether you want to do some conversation, need help with translations or just want to learn a language, I'm here to help!
