I’m a Primary School Teacher with over 7 years of teaching experience across all year groups from reception to Year 6. I am currently teaching Year 5 and have been for the past two years. I enjoy being active in my spare time including going to the gym, running, open water swimming and walking my dog.

I am available over the summer for regular tutoring sessions to help children close gaps or make extra progress over the summer holidays. Please contact me to discuss your child's individual needs!

I also offer tutoring throughout the academic year in the evenings and weekends to support children during school time.

Tutoring Experience

I have 7 years of primary teaching experience and have taught every key stage from reception all the way up to Year 6.

I have 4 years of experience teaching Early Years and Key Stage 1 phonics and supporting children ages 4-7 years with their reading and spelling. I am also very confident with the Year 6 SATs curriculum and exam technique for SATs, having tutored numerous Year 6 pupils for their SATs in both English and Mathematics. I've also tutored many Year 11 students for their Mathematics GCSE. All students who have had tutoring support have gone on to achieve a pass mark in their Maths GCSE.

Tutoring Approach

My aim is to help tutees to gain confidence in the subjects they need support in, to help them feel empowered and take ownership of their learning. I like to understand the student and ensure I understand the student's preferred learning style. After taking this into account, I make a plan using the appropriate curriculum to follow, ensuring I cover all aspects necessary. I also provide revision materials and set 'homework' tasks as appropriate to ensure the student is making progress. I can also offer advice on study skills and revision techniques alongside tutoring sessions.
