I’m a warm, energetic teacher who loves helping students achieve their best while keeping things engaging and enjoyable. When I’m not teaching, I love going to the theatre, taking part in dance and acting classes, and I’m always up for new adventures—like my upcoming challenge to hike Kilimanjaro! I’m passionate about learning, exploring different cultures, and finding new ways to bring that excitement into the classroom. My goal is to make learning feel approachable and fun, helping students feel supported and confident as they work towards their academic goals.
I have extensive experience teaching at one of the highest-achieving independent colleges in London, where we place a strong emphasis on student progress and securing outstanding outcomes. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked closely with students to help them achieve the grades they need, whether it's gaining A/A* results or securing places at top Russell Group universities, including Oxbridge. During my time as Head of Department for Economics and Business Studies, I successfully doubled student enrolment in the department and increased the percentage of A/A* grades from 10% to 28%, reflecting my ability to inspire students and push them to exceed their goals.
In addition to my department leadership, I have a strong track record of supporting individual students. I have worked with international students to help them bridge language gaps, particularly in essay writing, and helped many students improve their grades by at least one to two levels. I’ve taught both Edexcel and OCR exam boards, so I’m well-versed in the different specifications and what it takes for students to succeed across various exams. My commitment is to ensure that every student not only achieves their academic targets but also builds the confidence and skills they need to thrive in higher education and beyond.
I tailor my teaching to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring they get the personalised support necessary to excel. Before each session, I ask students about their key areas of focus and prepare resources designed to address these needs. My sessions typically include a combination of knowledge checks, teaching new material, and practical exercises to reinforce understanding.
My aim is to encourage students to become independent learners. I focus on equipping them with the tools and strategies they need to study effectively.
One of my key priorities is helping students apply their knowledge to exam scenarios, so we work on improving exam technique alongside mastering the content.
I always begin sessions with recall practice, revisiting previous lessons or foundational knowledge, which helps to strengthen memory and build on what they already know. My goal is to provide structured, ongoing support that equips students to not only meet but exceed their academic goals.
