I am PhD student, awaiting my viva, studying theoretical and experimental physics at Newcastle University. I am passionate about helping students at all levels of education, from primary school to university, achieve their full potential. I am excited to try innovative ways to engage students and provide unique learning experiences.
I have been demonstrating physics and mathematics to undergraduate students from years 1 to 3 throughout my PhD. During this time I developed online and in-person delivery and assessment tools, which was especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I also regularly taught A level students physics and mathematics, through both online and in-person modes, in summer schools.
I believe each student has their own needs for learning. It is important to first establish a baseline reference to see the students abilities and to work up from there.
I like breaking down problems into simpler components, and using multiple modes to approach the solution. This way, not only will the student have bitesize problems to solve, but also have a wider perspective of the problem and be able develop an intuitive understanding of the subject.
