Maisie

My name is Maisie and I am a Primary School teacher based in High Barnet. I have three years experience teaching and I am starting my fourth year in September 2022. I am currently teaching Year 6 and did so last academic year, having taught younger years previously. This means I have experience educating children to achieve their best in the SATs and general academic development in all subjects, especially Maths and English. The students I teach achieve fantastic SATs results and have made brilliant progress.

Tutoring Experience

Alongside my professional career as a teacher, I have tutored for 3 years. I can teach across all subjects with a focus on Maths, English Writing and Reading Comprehension, SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar) and SATs skills. I am also Computing Coordinator and help to run a code club after school. I can offer tutoring for coding or IT skills at primary level. I have also recently experience SATs Writing moderation so I have a deep understanding of the standard of writing that is needed to achieve Working At or Greater Depth.

Tutoring Approach

I run my tutoring sessions like a class of just one student. The session will be based on the needs of the individual whether that be exam technique or subject knowledge in all areas of the SATs. Homework is given after each lesson (if wanted) and feedback is provided to parents. I have tutored students of all abilities and seen them develop significant during the course of our lessons.
