I have been teaching for 30 years after several years of experience of working in public and private sector organisations.This experience enables me to put theories in context and to give my tutees a wider perspective required to gain a B, A or A* grade in order to gain a place at Oxbridge and the Russell group universities. I have a strong track record in education of adding value to my pupils in school, frequently enabling them to achieve significantly above their predicted grades.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in further education colleges, state schools and the private sector.I am a senior A Level examiner for Business, an examiner for A Leve and GCSE Economics. With experience of the new linear assessment challenges. I also have experience of teaching both GCSE and A Level Business and Economics. During my career I have taught people from 11 to 64 years of age. I am therefore an extremely effective communicator an essential skill for private tutoring.

Tutoring Approach

My approach to tutoring is to have very high expectations; but in a safe manner and environment where mistakes are openly discussed as this is how we learn and move onto the next level. I have a sense of humour and I am very pateint. My focus is on learning a topic thoroughly,using topical events ( essential in Business and Economics) and examples. Then developing effective examination techniques in order to achieve what the examiners call consistent focused analysis directly addressing the question with relevant evaluation.
