As a former conversation assistant, my approach to teaching is focusing on English in contextual spaces. Having students explore current/previous affairs and pop culture to support the longevity of their English. I spent time observing what methods of teaching students in a community with little to no knowledge of English would benefit from. Creating material that allows students to express their own culture/background and experiences will allow students to strengthen their bond with the language and see it more personally. In regards to exams, I cover course material and go through mock exams to ensure student confidence in exam level tasks.
