I am passionate about languages, and absolutely adore teaching, it gives me great fulfilment to see young people succeed, and achieve their potential. I currently work from home as a private online children, and live with my husband and two young children.
Since qualifying as a teacher in 2007, I have taught French to A level and Spanish at KS3 level. I taught in a school in Buckinghamshire for 14 years, and was Head of Languages for 10 years, until we moved back to N Ireland in 2021. I also held the role of form tutor, student voice co-ordinator and prefects co-ordinator, as well as becoming a Specialist Leader in Education and completing the NPQSL course.
I have been tutoring online since January 2022, as well as running an after school Spanish club at our local primary, and I mark GCSE exams every summer.
I am friendly, patient, and responsive to students' needs. I plan thoroughly but am very flexible when change is needed, and can improvise effectively when required. My lessons are well paced, with empathy, humour and high expectations appropriate to the individual child. I also have experience working with students who have special educational needs. All of my exam students to date have achieved one to two grades higher than predicted.
